The Cube Nail Lab
The client commissioned the interior and branding design of The Cube Nail Lab. The concept stems from the idea of RUBIK’S CUBE. is characterized by its interior, where the walls, floor and ceiling are covered in a continuous ceramic tile pattern. With thoughtful consideration of the brand, a colour of pink was picked by the designer to give it a refreshing look that sets the character apart from the typical glossy and glamorous images of a nail spa.
The tiled grid is a guide for the entrance area, the pattern manages to flow consistently at each corner this is illustrated where the wall or counter meets the ground. “We worked the interior space around its branding colours and paired it with copper finishes to create a warm, cozy environment for a fully modern look” This geometric wall covering also extends the concept of cubes and lines into the pedicure area.

Our Success
Following the dimensions of 4”x 4” and 8”x 8” pink tile, coupled with the pastel colour palette, the retail outlet evokes a simple, ordered yet playful space. Rectangular and cube shaped shelves have been carved from the wall. “It’s a space within a space” says the designer Zoe. Its effect is a delicate, clean but eye-catching aesthetic.
Frequently Asked Questions
How did you help first-time business owners connect their brand concept with interior design?
What was your design process?
We first visited the site to take measurements and fully understand the actual conditions. After confirming the project's design direction, we began developing renderings and selecting materials. Once the design was approved, we moved on to the next phase: documentation, construction drawings, and specifications. During construction, we coordinated with the contractor and consultants to ensure the project was executed perfectly, and we participated in ongoing onsite coordination throughout the process.
How involved was the client?
What challenges did you overcome?
What results did the client see?
It became an Instagram-worthy spot that generated organic marketing for the business. Every client who had their nails done would take photos in front of the feature wall or the pink tiled reception counter. This project also earned our client three international design awards.
Do you currently take projects like this?
What do you need from me to start?
We need the existing drawings and photos to get a preliminary understanding of your project. This helps us prepare for our initial site visit and understand the space's potential before we take measurements and discuss your vision. From there, we can assess the scope and begin developing the design direction.
What's the first step to working together?
You can email us at info@dexignmatter.com with basic information about your project, including your location, budget range, and timeline. From there, we can schedule a consultation to discuss your vision. This initial conversation helps us understand if we're the right fit for your project.
